Artist Collaboration with Fashion Illustrator Anja Karboul
When we created the name Togethery for our joint projects, we already had possible collaborations with other artists in mind - simply better together. We are therefore very pleased that we were able to win Anja Karboul as our first artist.
By the way, we discovered Anja on Instagram in the first Corona year 2020, when you were not allowed to do so many things and face-to-face meetings were impossible. During this time, a post from LOVE CIRCUS BASH caught my eye. Olivia Sarah Tänzer, founder of the ›coolest wedding fair in Germany‹, started the TALK CIRCUS podcast together with the freelance speaker Linda Tillmann to talk about the wedding industry and the special challenges. For this they used an illustrated portrait that Anja had drawn. I was excited! I had never seen such a cool portrait painted with such a light hand. So we asked her to draw us too. We are very happy about our new, creative profile pictures, which we have been using ever since.
We only met personally in October 2022. She visited us in the pop-up store in Berlin-Mitte and she liked our environmentally friendly printed paper goods. We liked her illustrations and finally wanted to put the artist collaboration idea into practice. But her designs are usually four colors and have soft gradients. We normally print with a maximum of two colors only and gradients are always a bit of a challenge. So first a few test prints were necessary to see if and how it could work. And it works! The result is a pretty card gift set on the subject of love, illustrated by Anja Karboul, printed in a limited edition of 250 pieces.
Anja Karboul is a freelance illustrator. The focus of her work is on portraiture and fashion. Anja also draws live at events for brands such as Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton, putting a silhouette on paper in just a few brushstrokes. More information at www.anjakarboul.com
